The work we do at the Coalition is only possible with your support. Our goal is to provide you with an opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation of Maine’s people, natural beauty, and outdoor recreation opportunities.

The Down East Sunrise Trail connects multiple scenic conservation areas, places to camp, swim and fish, and travels through historic villages. It can take you to the easternmost towns in the country and connect you to our neighbors in Canada where you can enjoy the trails at Roosevelt Campobello International Park, the Ganon Chocolate Factory in St Stephens, or Kingsbrae Gardens in St Andrews. Take the trail and traverse a natural landscape of green forests and vast marshes, a habitat for iconic moose, beavers, eagles, wild turkeys, and whitetail deer.

By becoming a Sunrise Trail Coalition member, you directly aid us in establishing scenic rest areas along the trail, developing trail-user information at our kiosks, and supporting trail events.

You can keep up with our work via our email list, where we send quarterly updates about activities on and along the trail and the projects that we’re working on with our trail partners.
